How to Build a Myofascial Decompression Matrix

To create an effective matrix, consider these key factors:

  • Muscle origin – Where the muscle starts

  • Tendon-muscle junctions – Critical connection points

  • Muscle size and shape – Length, width and structure

  • Insertion Points or zone of the muscle or tissue – Where the muscle attaches

  • Upper and lower body connections – The interrelationships of muscle and tissue groups

  • Cross upper-lower body tissue and structure inter-relationships

Summary:

  • Consider the area and tissues to be targeted, create a mental image of the perimeter of the zone to determine the total area targeted for decompression.
  • Then select the sizes of cups that will fill the selected region starting with the largest cups first, with the intent to build the matrix such that the larger cups are configured together to cover the majority of the zone

  • The smaller cups filling in the remaining area of the target zone.

Low Back Matrix Example: Note the provided example uses cups available in the FB2 set. Larger matrixes can be built with the use of Fascia Buddy Expansion Sets.
